Practicable by all those who have no experience of trekking or mountaineering, the path, already traced at the time of the Roman Empire, offers the possibility of having a route entirely in the middle of nature and with large stretches with views of Lake Lecco and Como starting from Abbadia Lariana to reach Piantedo, Valtellina.
From Varenna it is possible to enter the path for a first possible route to reach Bellano, along the way you will encounter the Castello di Vezio, the Black Marble Caves, the Regoledo funicular passing through olive groves along dry stone walls that along the way also mark the passage between different geological zones as the material was extracted at the time on site.
A second route is possible in the direction of Lierna, passing by the English Cemetery, Fiumelatte, Villa La Capuana dating back to 1600, the Valvacchera where until the last century the cut logs were rolled onto the lake to be loaded onto the typical boats called comballi and finally the Lierna Castle, the arrival point.
A final third route is possible with destination Monte Albiga above the Vezio Castle, proceeding in the direction of Bellano.
