Lake Como tributary owns its name from the colour assumed by its waters during its overflow due to hard rains; it is suppose that a possible additional waters reinforcements to visible water volume could come from a glacier basin localized in the bowels of Grigne mountain range.
Moreover the river was studied by Leonardo da Vinci who knew it under the name of “Fiumelaccio”.
